Work beginning on Pan Fountain

As the Walrus said, "The time has come..." and so it has.

After an excellent effort by a group of dedicated individuals and through the wonderful response of the Collinsville community, the Pan Fountain Fund is over $70,000!

With the coming of Spring has come the time to move toward renovating the Fountain in front of the Collinsville Memorial Library Center. Plans have been drawn, machinery has been ordered and Pan has been moved from his home in the middle of the Library fountain to make way for the crews of workers to begin.
Pan will soon leave Collinsville to be given a makeover by the Russell-Marti Conservators of Missouri. This company came highly recommended by Park Operations of Forest Park in St. Louis as the company that they use to maintain the numerous statues in the Park.
As Pan spends his time on a short vacation, a new home will be constructed for his eventual return. The new fountain will be in the same location but with new and improved equipment and construction design to last for years to come. It will stand out prominently on the main lawn in front of the Library Center as it will be raised from the existing ground level to raised walls with Pan sitting on a pillar slightly elevated in the center.
Many of the contractors and engineers are giving their time as a donation to the project and as an investment in our community.
After all costs for the renovation of the Pan Fountain are finalized, the remaining money will be kept in a Trust and held by the Collinsville Memorial Library Foundation to maintain the Fountain for years to come.
I will keep you updated on the developments in the coming weeks.
