Two Special Displays now thru the End of October

Men of the Mines
History of coal mining in Collinsville

Illinois and War of 1812
Diaramas of Illinois forts and story boards of information about the War of 1812 and Illinois's involvement in it. On October 18 at 6:00pm Bill Wilson will talk about the effects of the War on Illinois and our area.

Assistant Librarian / Head of Circulation
Collinsville Memorial Library Center

The perfect candidate will
have an excellent working knowledge of the Millennium Circulation software;
understand and be able to manipulate the List and Reports module of Millennium;
have worked with and supervised a staff of ten or more people;
can work independently and delegate responsibility when needed;
have good decision making abilities that are consistent with the library district’s policies and procedures;
can problem solve quickly and be tactful and customer service oriented when dealing with the public.

The perfect candidate would have a Master’s Degree in Library Science or a related field or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with significant management and library experience. Requires three to five years of progressively responsible experience in library services. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered when determining salary.

Gathering Food for the Pantry

The Library is helping the Collinsville High School Student Council

in collecting canned goods or hygiene products for the local food pantry

now through October 23rd.

To make it even better we are adding a an
additional Food for Fines time
to help with their collection.
For every 1 nonperishable food item or hygiene product the Library will forgive $1.00 of fines on your library card.

So remember to bring your contribution of food or products in today at the Collinsville Library or the Fairmont City Library and we will send them on to the Student Council.
